Post Surgery Care!

I got my surgery done in April. Can you elaborate on post surgery care ?

1) I resumed taking multivitamins after 1 month of surgery.
2) I started using Minoxidil (Twice a day)
3) I'm using HairCycle shampoo daily.

I used to take Propecia/Finasteride but I saw the side effects and stopped it long before surgery. I don't want to revert back to Propecia/Finasteride if possible.
Does it help if I use Revivogen instead of ...

3 week post op

Well I had over 1300 grafts placed in hairline and so far no shockloss but unfortunately I've noticed my hair in back (donor area) is not growing in or it's growing in patchy I guess it's shockloss which I fell a victim. I don't believe in Minox so I've had good results with my lasercomb and ill just keep using that until it grows in.

In Grown Hair or just bumps?

I thought it's worth posting this, many patients ask this question during their hair transplant post-operative time.

Patient Question:
Everything is going fine but I have a pimple (bump) on my frontline from a couple of months (there is a hair on top). I had other similar pimples but they were all gone within few days. Is there any medication or procedure that I can try to remove it?

People commonly mistake these ‘bumps’ for ...

New Hair Transplant Patient

Hello, on 5/11/2009 I had 200 grafts applied to my temple area. I have also been using the Biotin Spray for my scabs. On about the 7th day I started massaging my temples with baby shampoo. I noticed some scabs coming off. I wanted to know is this normal or should I have waited a little longer to start massaging. I am also an African American patient. Also another question 200 grafts equal about how ...

Blow drying hair postop?

How soon after my procedure will I be able to start using the blow dryer to dry my hair again? Even with the air drying is directly on the recipient area?

Quickest Healing Process Post-Op???

Hi all,

I am scheduled for a procedure with Dr. Cole this coming March. From everyone's experience what is the quickest way to get healed with the scabs falling off harmlessly? Should I be using the biotin spray every hour? And what exactly is the "post surgical" gel for? Thanks.

4.5 months post op, anxious

On June 11th I had a strip with 2000 grafts and so far growth is pretty sparse. I was told not to get hot and sweaty after the procedure but two days after the procedure I was coaching my son's baseball team on a hot night and got very hot and sweaty. Could this have harmed any of the grafts? I didn't notice any popped grafts or bleeding or anything. Also 11 days after I ...

THE DAY AFTER...

Post-op care begins as soon as you leave the clinic. At about 18 hours post-op, you basically want to gently wet your hair and begin to gently dab non-medicated shampoo onto your scalp. After applying the shampoo, you may gently rinse by pouring cups of water on your head. You can dry your hair by gently dabbing a bath cloth onto your head. The donor area can be cleaned more aggressively than the recipient. Please ...
