Yes, you are talking about the PCID (Programmable Power Cole Isolation Device) .This tool has advantages for the patient. It has new surrounded punches which are much sharper than the average used by other doctors and allows depth control, it allows better and easier extraction. It is much faster to...

Re: Possible to do surgery on a naturally high forehead?

I would hold and wait...hair transplant will not match your natural hair density and it might not look equal. If you start lossing hair on your existing hair later on then you can start with hair transplantation.

Re: Increased Shedding

Increasing dose of Avodart is not going to do anything for you in terms of the DHT levels. Best to just ride it out. It could be a seasonal shedding.
Creatine does not always treat you well on many levels.

Re: Acell / PRP and CIT Transplant Results

Although the after photo is not very good comparison (different light, hair color, angle), i can see good thickening of hairs in the crown. Very good progress for 5 months.
Looks like the acell is working. Keep us updated...

FUE/CIT donor after a big session

We recently followed-up with a patient who has received over 10,600 grafts since his initial CIT procedure with Dr. Cole in 2004. This patient has also had around 1,000 body hair grafts transplanted during this time. This is certainly one of the largest cases ever performed and, despite the amount o...

Donor area treated with CIT+PRP and Acell

This is a photo of a donor area treated with PRP and Acell. For the number of grafts harvested, there appears to be more hair and fewer extraction sites than I would expect. There is some white spotting, but also there are many extraction sites that have developed normal skin tone. Also, I suspect t...

What About Scarring?

One concern that many prospective patients have involves how their donor area will look following hair restoration surgery. Follicular unit extraction was developed, in part, to avoid the tell-tale linear scar left by traditional strip surgery. Although CIT and other FUE methods do not involve the e...

Non-shaven CIT-FUE on long-hair

Dr. Cole recently performed an unusual non-shaven CIT procedure. What made this procedure unique was that over 3,500 grafts were transplanted, via a non-shaven follicular unit extraction technique, on a patient with very long hair. Working with long hair is more difficult and time-consuming than wor...

Re: saw palmetto for hair loss?

You can get some answers on this article: Saw Palmetto for Hair Loss In theory alone, Saw Palmetto act like finasteride by helping those suffering from BPH (The theorized reason for its effectivity is that it suppresses the enzyme called 5-alpha reductase which in turn prevents the production of the...

Re: Sun Exposure

I agree with Emilie, after 6 months the grafts are secure and there shouldn't be any problem to get some sun, it is always good to be safe and ware a har or add some sunscreen.

Hair transplant repair in woman

An interesting case presented to Dr. Cole yesterday. This female hair restoration surgery patient is biracial, with one African-American parent and one Asian parent. Due to her partially Asian heritage, her hair follicles are straighter than someone of purely African descent. (You can see an example...
