#1 buzz-cut is NOT 1mm

Forhair,
a #1 buzz-cut is NOT 1mm - I think it is about 3mm - I cut to 1mm and I do that by using no guard.

RedDevil, you may not like what I am going to say but as a fellow Brit this is my opinion: 850 strip grafts for 3500 GBP is a rip-off price. Strip surgery itself for just 850 grafts is a disgrace. I wouldn't go back there if I was you - whether they grow or not - you can do better.

It is when grafts are accidentally cut and damaged when extracting from the donor area - sometimes they still grow in the donor area and sometimes they don't - and it is "transection" - not transaction :)

But the point is, it may seem that the buzz is a desirable look for you now, but you will probably wish to adjust your look in the future. Possible, yes, but not probable in my experience. The buzz-cut helps hide loss - that is the main point. You may want another style but if it makes you look wor...

Forhair, well, to be fair I didn't say that. We all know it CAN grow but does it grow CONSISTENTLY - that is the 64,000 dollar question. For instance, if Joe Blow walks into the office and has a 5,000 BHT today can we say within reasonable confidence limits (97%+ ?) that in 2 years time 80-90% of th...

Well, I think the long term future looks bright (10years+). I think anything nearer than that and a lot of us need BHT to work consistently - if it does really grow consistently on people then subject to price (BHT is never likely to cover the way scalp hair does) the whole HT world does a back-flip...

This is excellent, the guy must be really happy.

The pictures are very good, I would like a view directly over the top of the head but anyway it is still clear enough to see how much growth he has got.

Headsup, always have the work done where the physician is happiest and thus working at their best. During the procedure they are the most important person as they are doing the work which will hopefully last a lifetime. Your short term inconvenience is simply that - a short term inconvenience which ...

It is only my opinion but I would still try and FUE/FIT into the scar to improve it and help camouflage it, hopefully somebody from IHTI can comment here on what might be achieved this way.
I have no idea why you would still be talking to Bosley - but ultimately it is your judgement to make.

Now, if I got that done to the scar and after a year the body hair grows, according to my research, does that mean that I can now shave my head and the scar will be blended in by the follicles underneath the scar? The question as I understand it is can you camouflage a strip scar with FUE or BHT so...

would it be possible to get the gentleman into a nice 1 guard?

Scars are very hard to camouflage, I have never seen that done.[/i]

phillipedes262,
if you ask a doctor who does strip but cannot/does not do FUE about FUE do not expect a very positive response

I haven't responded because one to the exclusion of the other looks pretty crap in my opinion. Low density coverage (forgetting the temples)throughout looks better to me than the 'Friar Tuck' or 'Art Garfunkel' looks.

Consistently? Well, that's hard to evaluate.

Yes, that's the problem :D I do appreciate you responding to this difficult question. I figure it will take a while before anything concrete can be stated.

Growth Characteristics for Body Hair

Chaps, can you tell me, from your experience with customers do we KNOW that anagen characteristics are recipient dominated or are we just hoping at this stage? For instance leg hair, according to E-H who kindly supplied the information, is only normally in the anagen state for 20% of the time instea...

...(it doesn't make sense to have hair transplant only to have shave your head to 0# guard...) Actually for me it does, I cut well under #1 and have done for years. If you have the right shaped head for it I think it will take full advantage of 'less is more'. From what I have seen a very small ext...
