FIT and STRIP

Our strip work is consistently good simply because we are not limited to the technique and do not need to do it in all cases. We do it when it is appropriate and this gets the best results.

Plug Redistribution via FIT

Euro, I believe his previous doctor actually is out of business. We had discussed a second session with the patient to FIT-out some plugs but we have yet to nail down a day. The procedure will be a routine single-day session. Although the plugs are still visible in areas of the photos, the new work ...

Euro,

I believe the hairline was lowered 2-3cms at the midpoint and a lot more in the temple areas.

Norwood 3, advanced

I think it is safe to say he is a norwood 3. You will notice, however, that his recessions are so deep they begin to touch towards the midscalp and we see the beginnings of an isolated frontal forelock. Had he not opted to a FIT surgery in the frontal area, i suspect this patient would have easily p...

1972 FIT / Norwood III / Dr. Cole

1972 FIT grafts were used to rebuild this patient’s hairline and frontal 1/3. He now enjoys substantially more hair in his frontal zone as well as a sleeker facial frame.

I agree

I agree it is strange, particularly if many people report this. All I can say is that it deserves further attention since we do not currently have an explanation.

Plug Surgery Repair in Stages / Phase One: 1900g STRIP

Enclosed are the before and after photos of 1900-graft STRIP harvest done by Dr. Cole and staff. Some years prior to his appointment with Dr. Cole, this patient had an open-donor plug-graft surgery performed. Recognizing the poor aesthetic result of the plug procedure, the patient discontinued the t...

Future hair loss and tingling sensation

iostream71,

I asked the doctor about this. As far as we know, tingling is not an indication of future loss.

Hairline Construction and Follicular Isolation Technique

What makes a transplanted hairline look authentic? Well, one could write an entire book on the subject. On a basic level, the frontal hairline should be a soft transitional zone of single hair grafts between the bald forehead and the denser population of hair behind it. The very leading edge of the ...

"Zoox" Results/2146 FIT and Repair / Dr. Cole

These photos show the 13 month post-op result from a 2146 grafts FIT session. Prior to visiting IHTI and Dr. Cole, the patient had multiple strip surgeries that resulted in poor and unnaturally angled grafts all through the patient’s hairline and frontal 1/3. The objective of the surgery was 1) to...

Strip Scar Repair with FIT / Dr. Cole

Dr. Cole placed 219 FIT grafts into this patient strip scar back in 2004. The patient found the width and the coloration of the strip scar troubling and discovered a solution in Dr. Cole’s technique. 2 years post op the coverage is excellent and the linear incision is barely discernable to the eye...

Progressive Hair Loss

One should always plan ahead in hair restoration, iostream. Keep in mind that having only limited lost at age 35 statistically indicates that you should not experience massive loss. Perhaps a Norwood 5 is in your future but we simply cannot tell with full certainty. Given your age and current meds (...

trichophytic closure

Dr. Cole has done trichophytic closure only on a limited basis for the reasons mentioned above. At this time I do not believe we have any releases for photos of FIT growing from trichophyt...

Hair Tranplant Density / Best Approach

We push the envelope for what is possible and effective for treating hair loss. As this is the case we need to compile data so that we can treat patients in the most efficient manner without jeopardizing their donor follicles. There are several studies like the one above by other physicians that cor...
