can shock loss occur slowly?

Can shock loss occir slowly, let's say over a year or so? I had previous FUE/FIT work to fill in a strip scar and the first doctor clearly overharvested an area. It seems that the area has become more diffused as time moves on - or It may be that I am looking at it more. I was wondering if some hair...

Question

I recieved 80 BHT and 50 scalp FIT into a scar 6 weeks ago. When should I expect some growth? It seems as if it may be thinner than before the work. If there was shock loss, will that hair grow back? Did I risk good hair for the chance of FIT/BHT? This was all on the side of the head in the permanen...

don't be fooled

I know that you are looking for the Doctors response here, but let me tell you - do not put your hopes in a snake oil product. This looks very suspicious. Anytime a site is loaded with testimonials and hard selling points I have to be concerned about it's legitimacy. There is no substance to the inf...

laser/electrolysis

Doctor, I have used electrolysis on some 2-3 hair micrografts in the hairline and have had some "percieved" success. Are you suggesting that these will come back? The electrolysis definitely seems to thin them out before it kills them. I have also heard other success stories with electr. If this met...

What a transformation

Wow. This certainly is lifechanging. Did the patient shave those nasty plugs down on a daily basis or bear them to the world? I'm sure he is thrilled with his new head. He must have some limitations still, styling wise,(donor area looks a bit sparse in areas) but what an amazing difference. Congrats.

wow

What will the scarring be like where the grafts were removed? It always amazes me in cases where you can remove a graft, run a stitch and have minmal scarring.

Touching post

Dimmesdale, I found your post to be truly touching. I too rushed off to have work done at Bosley in my twenties, when I had no perspective on my hairloss and much loss in front of me. The way they took advantage of my fears makes me sick to my stomach. Luckily, this was in 2003 and my grafts are not...

Question

I am 3 weeks post op from body hair. The extraction sites (THIGH AREA) are still red. Is this normal? How long can I expect them to stay red? I will post pics when I get a camera. THANKS FOR THE HELP!

recipient scabs

When is it safe to gently rub the recipient scabs with your finger? I am 5 days post op and the scabs are starting to come loose. Are the recipient hairs safely embedded yet?? Thanks for all of the help!

recipient scabs

when is it OK to ease out recipient scabs with your fingertips? I am at day 5 and most seem loose. Has the hair safely settled yet? Thanks for everything and putting up with my worries/questions.

Thanks Fitness

Does it eventually take on characteristics of scalp hair? What is the typical growth time for bht? Again, thanks.

Body hair grafts

I am having bht put into a scar. Are there any serious risks with this relatively new procedure? (long term risks - do we know yet??) Or is the main risk that growth may not be what it is with scalp hair. Also, how long does the body typically take to heal up? Thanks.

OK

Thanks. So if the hair has been transplanted properly, small papercut like slits are made in the recipient area which heal somewhat naturally? If the hair is in a natural follicular unit, the skin disturbance should be minimal?

pitting/cobblestoning

Is pitting and/or cobblestoning noticeable while the hair is present or only if the hair is removed or shaved? I had some 2-3 hair micrografts and do not notice any cobblestoning or pitting at close view. However, I do not know what the scalp looks like without hair. Any thoughts?

Heal Time

I am seriously thinking of having 100 grafts FIT'ed into a scar. I work as a trainer in front of alot of people. How long after the procedure will it not be noticeable? I am assuming that Dr. Cole shaves the donor area. (or do I get the haircut myself?) I also would prefer to keep this from my frien...

OK

Since this has only been done since 02, is it safe to say that we do not know the possible long term effects. Again, I have much faith in this and am not trying to speak negative, just trying to do my research. (which I didn't do before my strip) Do you have any thoughts as to if there could even be...

FIT Risks?

Some basic questions from a curious man: Are there any long term risks associated with FIT? Has this method even been around long enough for us to know? Can the extractions cause damage to surrounding hairs when extracted? (be it shock loss or permanent loss)
