Spinner,

This patient was on Rogaine for about 5 years then decides to stop using it for three years and began taking Propecia since 2007. This decision to discontinue using minoxidil was not a favorable outcome. We look forward to the update on this case.

These same clinics don't speak of the future possibilities of additional loss or the disadvantages of their procedures. Educating patients is the single most important aspect of hair tranplant sur...

Hi Macklin,

This is the result after one grafting session. The patient received 80 grafts into the strip scar to minimize the appearance of the scar. Sometimes strip scars can require more than one grafting session to increase density without compromising the yield of the procedure.

Repair sessions

Hi ljpviper, Repair is almost always more difficult than transplanting into virgin scalp. In a typical case of hair transplant, less scar tissue is involved and survival of the newly transplanted hairs should have adequate blood supply in the recipient area. Repair is often referred to as Plug redis...

Scar work

Hi Macklin, We prefer to graft into linear scars in the donor area. Grafting into scars may be more advantageous to patients than scar revisions. Scars cannot be surgically removed, a thinner scar may or may not form as a result of scar revision. Grafting into linear scars can get the appearence of ...

The healing is usually excellent in almost all cases at our clinic. The sutures used on our repair patients also seem to help expedite the healing process. Some patients can see a slight change in pigment (hypo-pigmentation) on the locations where large grafts are removed. Scarring is not very visib...
