Hi Tincup911, I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the outcome thus far. I can understand your frustration but you should count yourself as "lucky" as long as your growth looks natural. At 6 months, about 40% to 50% of the growth should be achieved. The newly transplanted follicles wil...

Hi Yann, In which country do you live? We can give you a better idea of which body hair source would be better to use if you could send in a few photos. After you send the photos, Dr. Cole will recommend a test session or a small BHT procedure to study what body hair source will be best for you. The...

reality of hair transplant

I really would contact the clinic and ask them if they have similar cases that you could see. You should highly consider using some topicals to maintain what hair you currently have. At 23 years of age, you should not have any aggressive hair transplant procedure. It is in your best interests not to...

You may observe that each patient has moderately long hair in the donor area and that a considerable amount of thinning in ...

Hi RIVA

Hi RIVA, You are correct, 3-hair follicular units do not belong on the hair line. They only make it difficult for patients to wear their hair as they desire. There is always a possibility of the repaired area to change in pigment so it is advantageous to carefully approach the removal of larger graf...

Hi Chrisdige, Spinner & fellow forum members

The most important consideration to keep in mind is that hair loss can be a progressive condition. That said, patients should realize that efficient donor harvesting is imperative in every case. Typically, a strip surgeon will destroy at least 5% of the follicles surrounding the strip incision. Once...

Gamecock,

We average about 2.9 hairs per transplanted follicular unit. The grafts that we transplant are not fractionated and are placed intact. Our goal is to transplant as few grafts as possible because it is in patients' best interests in consideration of further hair loss.

Groulou85, Your actual case may require that a physician physically examine your donor area. At least clear photos of your donor area are needed to approximate your donor resources. Depending on your classification of hair loss, you may need to change your goals or expectations. Advanced cases of ha...

Hi Scarline, The average strip scar is about 3 to 4 millimeters in width. Usually Dr. Cole will evaluate the scar and recommend that injections of kenalog may be necessary. It is normal for strip patient's not to have the ability to wear shorter hairstyles. Scar grafting is probably better for impro...

I concur. Not a good decision, but at least this patient didn't go to some other known clinics for aggressive hair line work. The unnatural look of having great density in the front with no gradual transition from the hair line to the crown. It would look like a dense hair line starting then suddenl...

You may notice that some follicles have been circled in a few of the boxes to simplify the task of c...
