I was wondering in particular how much donor re-population is necessary to create the "illusion" of a pristine donor area. The reason that I ask is that at the end my next procedure, I will have extracted a total of 4500 grafts from my donor area. I'm not planning on having 4500 grafts repopulated into the donor area at this time, but I am curious how many it would take to create the illusion of an untouched donor. For example, right now if I shave my head with no guard or with the smallest guard you can tell that I had some work done. One or two guards up and its undetectable. I'd like to get as close as possible to being undetectable even on the smallest guard, and I wanted to know if that was only possible by completely reharvesting the donor area (all 4500g), or if its possible for Dr. Cole to accomplish the same look with less through intelligent placement.

Often times patients ask for number and percentages in regards to hairs, grafts, survival rates etc. What is often over looked is hair quality! This is more important for coverage and appearance. Your question cannot be answered without knowledge of your hair quality - scalp and body.

I do not think that 4500 bht grafts will need to be relocated into the donor area to restore it. But I simply cannot tell you the number of grafts required.

I know that Dr. Cole will work with you until you are happy.
