Question: is the FDA investigating dut (advodart) as a potential HL prescription?

The FDA has not yet finalized their testing for Hair loss...

You have to understand that dutasteride is a young drug and that the stage 3 trials are pending approval. What that means is that FDA has conducted 2 studies on Dutasteride and Hairloss and both have proven Dutasteride to be more effective than propecia by 40 - 50% on average.

After stage 3 Dutasteride trials are complete the FDA will hopefully approve Dutasteride for MPB(male pattern baldness). For right now Dutasteride is only for prostate enlagement. So it IS FDA approved but ONLY for benign prostatic hyperplasia = prosate enlargement

Also keep in mind that dutasteride is a fairly new drug and that NO LONG TERM side effects are known yet.

I hope this answers your question.
