As previously noted we are using BHT now to re-stock the donor area in our FIT patients. To the best of our ability, we are trying to do this a no additional cost to our patients.

Dr Cole, can you elaborate on this, I do not mean to put you on the spot but this is a big deal. Are you saying that if somebody is going to do say 4000+ grafts you are offering this or does it depend on other factors? Frankly hypopigmented gapping is my biggest worry. I want to go below #1 buzzcut (I think my only chance is to take advantage of 'less is more') but hypopigmented gapping kills that option.

Hypopigmentation in the donor area is one of FIT limitations. We are looking for solutions and we started with compression of the donor area in different ways (sutures, staples, compressif bandage,...).And Dr Cole came up with the re-stocking the donor area with BHT.
By doing so we are expecting to decrease or solve the hypopigmentation and at the same time maintain the density in your donor area.
We have been treating scars or depleted donor area with BHT and it gives us good result. We want to reproduce that in a preventive way.We really started about 2 months ago and we need to wait nfor results in one year and plus when we are expecting to see results in a regular Hair transplant surgery.
So far we are doing that for free.We are in a trial period and we can't charge anybody for something we don't know yet how it will turn .We are pretty sure and I am personnally conviced it is a great idea that could bring a lot of positives solutions for FIT.But we need concrete results so we can propose that option to our patient.
Let say we perform a 4000FIT.We need about 4000BHT to re-stock the donor area.It is an intensive labor work and I'm not sure it will be totally free of charge.

OK, thanks for your detailed response, I appreciate it was a difficult question to answer. I think IHTI is doing great things.

I had some grafts put in last week and Cole extracted hairs from my inner thigh to replace what they were taking from the back of my head. He's right, it is labor intensive process. Equal time was spent on my leg and head. It's a good concept because you're actually offsetting the donor area...taking a replacing. Fortunately, I'm not a big fan of speedos so no one outside of my doctor or girlfriend will see the barren spot on my leg.
