First FIT session and a few questions.

After much research I'm coming to have FIT surgery by Dr Cole in November. This will be my first transplant and I am only going to have my crown worked on in this first session and this is for a number of reasons. I'd say the crown is 80cm2 and i'm booked for 1500 FIT (maybe up to 2000 FIT, donor area allowing) By taking a conservative 1500 FIT approach I in no way run the risk of out sourcing my donor, and I address the area where there is no hair at all. During this first transplant i'm hoping Dr Cole will be able to advise how many grafts I have available for a second session.
Another reason why I'm having the crown worked on first, is that I've been able to hide this bald area with a side parted hair style, with the hair combed over the crown and Toppik to fill it in. The rest of my head from vertex to the front hairline does have hair, but it is thinning, and I would estimate density to be somewhere between 20-40 grafts perCM2. Again Toppik has been a real saviour. But my hairline has in no way receded back.
With the crown transplanted into, I can again "hide" the growing grafts underneath with the side part hair until they have grown in. So when I go in for round two, I will have hair all over the top of my head approx 20-30 grafts. Not great, and i'll have to use Kerasome/Toppik etc, but i'm ok to do that. I just want rid of this awful side part and to have my hair combed forward in a modern "crop" style, but as I said I know i'll need toppik to achieve this.
A few questions spring to mind....
a) I understand the back and side of my head just above the ears will be shaved right down, and the top of my head will be left unshaved. This is what I want as I need the long hair on top to cover over my crown. But will this hair (10 cm in length) get in the way of surgery? I suppose it could always be pinned back.....
b) There will be 11 days from when my surgery ends until I go back to work. If the redness in the donor area has not gone down by then, is there anything I can use to help disguise this? Ive never used Couvre before, but could this work? Would it be ok to use this 11 days after on the donor?

Excellent news!
My overall game plan is not to hope for the impossible, but rather to try and achieve around 30 grafts per cm2 all over my head. As I said, I really dont mind to use Toppik etc But i'll be interested to see how much donor I do have available for a second session.
Thanks for the reply and I too look forward to meeting the team in November.
