I have a question for former patients: How did you hide the several weeks of obvious pinkness after your procedure? I assume the typical answer will be "I wore a hat", but

1. Didn't the sudden daily wearing of a hat draw a lot of attention/comments?
2. What about those of you who work in jobs that don't allow hats?

Right now I am assuming I will just wear a hat, but I'm curious whether anyone came up with a clever and effective alternative, or a clever excuse for the sudden daily hat wearing. Very Happy

I think your best bet is to hang low for 7 to 10 days. After 10 days I was able to be basically undetected. However, before 10 days if was pretty obvious something happened up there.

It is not necessary going to be pink for weeks as you said, in my case i healed very fast after my 3rd CIT session...after 5 days i already felt very comfortable going outdoor ...i even went to a local bar and had a drink Smile
I was very aggressive with using Haircycle and that really helped, i also wear a baseball hat for the first days and no one asked me questions. I felt that some people are wondering but it is up to your behavior to determine if they are going to dig about it...means if you will act normally they will not have any reason to open their curiosity Smile

here are some comparison photos of my donor after 3rd session:

RickH,

I made sure to do my procedure during a holiday weekend to give me a little more time. However, I had the procedure on Dec. 17th and my entire family came over my house on Dec. 25th (Christmas obviously) and it wasn't until the end of the night that I told everyone about the transplant. They had no idea. I also went out with all of my friends on New Years Eve...again...nobody noticed. I was back to work on Dec. 28th also. There is a little redness but it really is remarkable how the body heals. The incisions are so small that the body heals up without a single scar. I'm still a little blown away by it frankly. My advice is to take a few days off from work, and use the Hair Cycle spray religiously. I was an animal with it. I brought it in the car with me. I brought it over friends' houses. I was probably over the top with it, but it seemed to work. The scabs naturally crumbled away a little more each day and then the hair fell out on it's own over time. At the two month mark, the hairs are growing in slowly, some like peach fuzz, others a little thicker...but it's so gradual that it looks like the natural course of things.

And my last piece of advice. Just tell people that you're having it done. Once they see how quickly it heals and how unnoticeable it is, they won't give it a second's thought. Honesty is always disarming. I told anyone that would listen actually...and now that it's healed, I tell people all the time and they're shocked. My friends at work consider me their hero. I was the guinea pig and now I can tell that many of the guys are thinking about it!!!

Good luck,
