I am going to get some grafts from Dr. Cole. However, I can not afford it at this time and it will probably take about a year before I have the procedure. With that being said I am looking for something that will help maintain what hair I do have left until then. I have tried Propecia but stopped due to the side effects. Is the lasercomb or something of that nature good?

Hi walling,

Your non-surgical options to stabilize your hair loss can be laser comb or medications. Oral medications can cause side effects so you need to be well aware of these possible side effects before starting them. Our clinic often recommends that patients utilize natural hair loss remedies to maintain their existing hair as well. You may find herbal products like saw palmetto or natural hair products like Hair Cycle which both provide more reinforcement to fight hair loss. I hope that my response has shed some light on the subject of other remedies to fight hair loss. Please give us a call if you would like to discuss the options via telephone.

What is your oppinion on laser treatment?

Isn't there a way to do it at home?

You might want to consider laser hair growth therapy from the comfort of your home if you're too self-conscious or can not afford a salon treatment. Home treatments are convenient and offer you flexibility as far as time, comfort, and price.

Is that the laser comb you're referring to? I wanted to do more research on it and wasn't sure if it was worth looking into.

Mike,

Laser combs don't have a signifigant amount of data suggesting that it's use is 100% effective. It doesn't mean that it isn't a good hair loss product to try, it means that there isn't very much outstanding clinical data to support it.

My advice is not medical advice

Would this help initially? Do you think it could actually be a good prerequisite to transplant...unless someone decides not to go through with it...would it help in the long term?

dab and rub olive oil all over your head before you go to bed. Sleep with it on your head the whole night and shampoo it out in the morning. That’s it. After the 8 days are up, you won’t use the olive oil again in any way.

...excess sebum hardens and builds layers of deposits on your scalp to choke off your hairs and make growing hair extremely hard. What the olive oil does is it helps break up those hardened layers and eliminate bacteria. (permission by easyhairgrowth dot com)

I keep looking
