This Patient had a hair transplant limited to the crown or vertex region of his scalp. While isolated crown hair loss is not as common, it does occur. Provided the patient has a good donor to recipient area ratio and is not too young, hair transplantation to an area of baldness limited to the crown is possible. The patient must always remember that his hair loss can progress to the frontal region at any time. Therefore, he will want to maintain a donor reserve in case hair loss in the front does occur. In this way, the patient does not run out of donor reserves should hair transplantation be necessary for frontal baldness.
