Biography

We wish to announce our new affiliate physician, Tyng Yuan Tan, MBBS. Dr Tan’s office is in Singapore. Dr. Tan completed her graduate education and medical education in the United Kingdom over a span of 10 years. She received her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the prestigious University College London. Following this she trained in Medicine, Surgery, and Orthopedics. She then trained in Anesthesiology upon returning to Singapore. Like Dr. Cole, she discovered her true passion was in hair restoration surgery. She found that hair restoration instills a lifetime of happiness, confidence, youth, and vigor in her patients. She has found no greater satisfaction than giving a person their life back. She has trained extensively with well-respected and renowned physicians from both Asia and the United States in pursuit of her career in hair transplantation.
More recently, Dr. Cole collaborated with Dr. Tan in the surgical treatment of hair loss. Dr. Cole was so impressed with Dr. Tan that he immediately offered her an opportunity to affiliate with his practice. Dr. Cole is very selective in the physicians he affiliates with. Physicians must have great surgical talent to affiliate with Dr. Cole. Surgical talent is only a fraction of the equation that Dr. Cole looks for in a physician that he affiliates with. The physician must also have focused dedication to produce the best possible result for their patient every single day the physician goes to work. Every patient is just as important regardless of their position in life or the complexity of their surgical intervention. A physician must also have a burning compassion for each patient and their situation. A physician must have the drive to give his or her full talent to each patient. The physician must have a wonderful personality, which gives them the capacity to interact well with their patients. They must be able to understand a patient’s needs and deliver the results they expect. The physician must be completely honest with their patients and with others. Dr. Cole found all of these qualities in Dr. Tan and so much more.

Dr. Tan regularly attends scientific meetings dedicated to hair restoration surgery in an effort to polish her skills and keep abreast of new technology. She is a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (http://www.ishrs.org), the Asia Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons, The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and The American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. In addition, hair restoration surgery, Dr. Tan has trained extensively in Aesthetic Lasers, Botox, Dermatology Fillers, IPL, and Chemical Peeling. She is currently pursuing a Diploma in Practical Dermatology from the United Kingdom in an effort offer the highest standard of care to her patients. She is currently working on a research project devoted to graft storage solutions in cooperation with Dr. Cole. She confers routinely with Dr. Cole on a variety of subjects devoted to hair restoration surgery and the medical treatment of hair loss.

In her free time, she enjoys volunteering for the less fortunate individuals in Asia. She routinely does missionary trips in Thailand where she offers her medical skills to help treat underprivileged patients.
