Dear IHTI Forum
Readers,
We at IHTI are happy to present the 2nd forum
newsletter. We will be releasing the Fall
newsletter no. 7 very soon. If you would like to
write past newsletters, you can do so by
clicking on the
Newsletter archive.
Many exiting events transpired in the past few
months. We have seen some excellent body hair
results. Dr. Cole and the team performed a mega
session of 13,000 grafts on a Norwood 7 patient
with one of the most amazing healing processes
ever seen in the hair transplant field. This is
due largely to our new post surgery product
called "Hair Cycle". This patient also has
reported good growth after only one month
post-op surgery. We feel this case is going to
revolutionize hair restoration surgery.
On another note we would like to take the
opportunity to call out to patients to present
their results! It is tremendously important for
prospective patients to have visual
representations of what is possible with cutting
edge follicular unit transplantation. The photos
can be from the eyebrows and up. Any interested
parties can e-mail photos by clicking on my
nickname below:

Surgery Of The Week Photos Forum
Body extractions and healing photos
Attached are before photos of
a Norwood Class VII patient who is visiting IHTI
with a goal of creating total hair coverage from the
front to the crown. To put this endeavor into
perspective, a typical Norwood Class V will have
roughly 180cm2 of bald/thinning scalp to cover. This
patient has up to 270 sq. cm of baldness at a
hairline of 8 cm above the glabella. In the initial
procedure we will treat only 250 sq. cm. In
addition, this patient has fine scalp hair, low
follicular density (74fu/cm2), small follicular
grouping, and limited surface area for donor
harvesting. To put it quite simply this gentleman is
not a candidate to traditional hair transplantation.
Dr. Cole and the team are circumventing these
problem by employing IHTI’s revolutionary methods of
donor harvesting, namely Follicular Isolation (FIT)
and Body Hair Follicular Isolation (BFIT/BHT). The
patient will be receiving well over 10,000 grafts in
his first session using body hair alone, and we will
be updating you on his progress. In his second
procedure in two weeks, we will treat an additional
20 sq. cm of bald area and build a new hair line. We
will also add head hair to the area we initial
treated with body hair alone.

My story and...Shaving after FIT?
New to this site, although I
have bean an active member of other forums since i
first started realizing I was loosing my hair in
February of this year. I'm 25 years old and a NW 2ish.
Mostly my right temple has receded back much worse
than my left. Everything else is looking good.
Despite some minor side effects, the Propecia has
stabilized my hair loss quite well. Dr. Cole seems
to be the best of the best and I plan at some point
in the future to seek his services. The question is
when and how long I can put up with my hair loss.
Here comes my question: How short can one shave his
head after FIT. I want to have a back-up plan. Say I
wanted to get some touch -up in the hairline, and
perhaps have a few sessions of Fit as the Hair Loss
progresses. BUT, years down the road when hairloss
has gotten the best of me or i simply don't want to
have anymore HT's I decide to shave my head. How
short can I shave it. Is it ever going to be
possible to "bic" the scalp? I have heard mixed
answers to this questions and would like to see
where any of the doctors stand on it. Scarring? How
natural would a hairline look shaved? any responses
would be greatly appreciated... .... Read

Are less
expensive grafts inferior??
just found the forum, lots of
good reading so far...i did a small transplant about
4 years ago at Bosley. I'm pretty satisfied, but I'm
interested in doing more now. I have since moved to
Los Angeles, and have been looking into alternatives
to Bosley. I found a local specialist that is
substantially cheaper.
so my question, is there really a big difference in
who does your surgery?? are $8 per better than $2
per?? is the more expensive just paying for
advertising etc? or are they that much better???
Finances are definitely a concern for me, but i
still want to do something like this correctly. Id
like to hear peoples opinions, it seems to me as one
would potentially be just as qualified/experienced
as the other, and have similar results....thanks for
any replies ...

First FIT session and a few questions…
I'm discussing
a new site with a client. The site will include a
catalog with photos and product descriptions.
A design issue will be whether to break up long
product categories into separate pages, or put all the
products from a category into single pages which will
require vertical scrolling.
My preference is to create separate pages. My client
thinks her customers will prefer to scroll down rather
than jump to a new page.
I know there are some "it depends" answers to this
debate. Has anybody got any good research-based evidence
about what is best?... Read
