Studies are essential to the development of any medical procedure. We are always looking for better ways to restore one’s hair loss. Many of the studies we have done over these years have led to modifications in the way we perform hair restoration surgery. These include studies to improve natural results, studies to improve yield, and studies to reduce hair transection. We have also done studies documenting the inefficiency of scalp reduction surgery, studies of scar width following strip surgeries, and studies evaluating ways to minimize scar width following strip harvesting.
Body HairOur body hair studies look at the percentage of telogen and anagen hairs in various regions of the body. We also study growth rates, length of growth, and yields from body hair transplants.
Follicular isolationOur FIT studies include an evaluation of transection rates and hair yield. We are also designing a study to evaluate reactive hypopigmentation.
Hair MultiplicationOur hair multiplication trial involves sectioning a follicular sheath into multiple segments in an effort to produce more than one hair from a single donor hair.
Hair OrientationWe have looked at the direction of hair growth and the angle of hair growth in both the donor and recipient area. We have also evaluated how strip surgery changes the angle of hair growth in the donor region irreversibly.
